Three Ways to Turn your Rubbish into Treasures
We have been in the recycling game for along time. And while we are very keen to keep hiring out our skip bins to our friendly Melbourne customers, we are also partial to recycling waste to save money and the environment.
Using recycled wares to refurbish, renovate or rejuvenate is rewarding. As a business, we do our best to find homes for much of our waste, whether it’s through a recycling station or donations (eg timber for the Men’s Shed).
So here are some great ways you can use your waste to up-cycle instead of paying to get rid of it.
Shelving and Book Cases
This is a very unique way to display candles and collectibles. It is on trend and attractive. We see countless items such as guitars, old timber boxes, and basins that could be beautifully up-cycled with a bit of TLC.
They are costly to dispose of and in their used state, have a negative impact on our environmental foot print.
Why not use an old tyre to make a garden? The ways in which you can use old tyres are countless. You could frame a garden with tyre edging, use them to make a herb garden, fairy garden or grass patch for your pet.
Roof tiles, bricks and building waste
Builder’s waste is often very heavy and therefore most costly for us to dispose. Not everyone has the space or time to sort through rubble for gems, but if you are doing a small scale project it would be fun to put some of your tiles, bricks, metal off-cuts etc aside and see what you can come up with. Look at the creative genius behind this retaining wall (made from old pipes, tiles, bricks, metal off-cuts).
