Skip Hire Costs vs A Trip to the Tip

You ring up for a quote on skip bin hire so you can clean up from your renovation, or tidy up the garden. You have some green waste, garage junk and maybe a few wheelbarrows of soil to get rid of. Can’t be that much surely?

To be honest, our skip bin hire prices are among the best in Melbourne. We try to run a tight ship and keep our operational costs low so we can pass good prices on to our customers.

But at the end of the day, when you hire a skip bin you are paying for – delivery to and from your premise; bin hire for a 3-4 days (sometimes longer), labour and disposal of your rubbish. Once we collect your skip bin, we take your rubbish back to our site so we can recycle as best as possible. We always consider the environment when recycling your waste.

The easiest way to compare our skip bin prices is to consider your costs if you were to take your 4m3 of rubbish to a tip or transfer station.

Keep in mind that most transfer stations/tips don’t accept builders waste which includes concrete, bricks and soil. Check our this outline on the waste types we accept in our skip bins.

Cost Comparison

4m3 Big Bin Hire Skip Bin
Green waste, garage waste and light builder’s waste
$300-380

Boot load (0.25m3 x 16 loads = 4m3)
$464

Tandem Trailer with high sides (roughly 3.6m3)
$430

The above prices are based on fees of a select number of tips/transfer stations in Melbourne. Prices may of course vary, but hopefully these prices demonstrate that more often than not you will save yourself time and money through the hire of a skip bin. So why not leave it to the experts.

Hi

Thanks for contacting us. You can certainly mix your loads and green waste without soil won’t cost you any more. However please keep in mind that it is the builder’s waste that is more expensive in particular soil. If you are interested in booking please give us a call on 1300 224 473 so we can chat about what you are planning on putting in the bin and the best possible price we can offer.

Choosing right thing at a right time is difficult, after reading this I think people should remind your words.

Thanks for pointing out that when you hire a skip bin, you’re paying for the delivery to and from your location. You also said that you usually get the skip bin for 3-4 days. I think it’s a good idea to choose a skip bin that has low sides so that you do not have to lift heavy things to high over the sides.

I am completely agree with your suggested idea. Appoint skip bin service for picking up trash is really good. I really appreciate your effort, you described this very well. I believe this price chart will guide us.

I think that skip bins are a great option for your next home renovation project. Because it is important to make sure that green waste is recycled and turned into product it is important not to throw it in the regular garbage. I think that more places should start to use green garbage cans. If there were more green garbage cans then people would work more on their yards.
